What would you like to highlight from the year gone by at Aarhus BSS?

One of the great results of this year has been that Aarhus University and thus also Aarhus BSS have achieved a positive national institutional accreditation. It’s been an exciting process with hard work and commitment from the lecturers, students and administrative staff involved. I’d like to thank everyone for their efforts.

Now what we’ve landed the national accreditation, we are able to focus on the degree programme development rather than on the aspect of control, which also constitutes a large part of an accreditation process. For that reason, working with degree programme development here at Aarhus BSS is going to be even more interesting in the future!

What are you looking forward to in 2019?

First and foremost, I look forward to finding good solutions for students on the MACC and the BAMCC as these programmes will unfortunately not be offered in the future due to the international degree programme resizing. This is an important task that we take very seriously and that we’re certain we’ll find a good solution to.

I’m also looking forward to the AACSB visit in the spring and to achieving the AACSB accreditation. When we received the five-year accreditation in 2013, Assurance of Learning and the degree programme quality assurance was one of the development goals that we had to work with in the accreditation period. Since then, we’ve introduced a number of quality assurance procedures on our degree programmes. This means that today we’re working much more systematically with degree programme quality assurance and development. We’ve come a long way and I look forward to showing our progress to the AACSB panel.

Hopefully we will have landed all the accreditations soon and then we can start focusing on integrating Assurance of Learning and quality assurance even more in our daily work. In this way, some of the tools we’ve acquired during the accreditation processes will become standard tools when we develop the quality of our degree programmes.

Do you have any final words for the employees?

I’d like to thank the many committed academic and administrative employees who have worked tirelessly to develop excellent degree programmes for the benefit of our students.

As always, I’m looking forward to next year and to collaborating on the many interesting projects that are in progress across the school’s degree programmes - such as the quality assurance of our examinations and much more. The projects are proceeding steadily in their own track, but they all point in the same direction and aim to ensure that we offer the best possible degree programmes here at Aarhus BSS. After all, that’s what it’s all about.
