Anders Møller, professor in computer science, has received one of this year's five Elite Research Prizes, which were presented on Thursday 27 February at a ceremony at the Royal Opera House in Copenhagen. This is only the third time that the prize has been awarded to a computer scientist, and all three of them have been from Aarhus University. Three research talents from Aarhus University are also delighted to be among the 20 recipients of an Elite Research travel grant.
Professor Preben Bo Mortensen, a scientific director at iPSYCH has been awarded the Novo Nordisk Prize 2020 in recognition of his research into mental disorders.
The AU Committee for Diversity and Gender Equality is inviting employees and management at Aarhus University to a conference on "Promoting Diversity at AU" on 13 March in the Main Hall. The final programme is now available on the AU website. The deadline for registration is Friday 6 March.
The keynote speakers at the conference will be Professor Jo Silvester from Loughborough University Business School and Professor Jens Hjorth from the University of Copenhagen. In addition, Rector Brian Bech Nielsen and Pro-rector Berit Eika will be interviewed by the conference moderator Nynne Bjerre Christensen. The topic for the interview is the role of management in improving diversity and gender equality at AU.
In the afternoon, there will be four breakout sessions, one for each faculty (the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Technical Sciences have a joint session).
The conference will primarily be conducted in English.

Newly appointed assistant professors, associate professors and professors can now apply for AUFF Starting Grants. The funding is dedicated to international recruitment for growth areas, and the goal is to establish new independent research areas and research groups at Aarhus University.
The 2020 framework totals DKK 50 million, and the first application deadline is 1 April, then again 1 October this year.
