There are several hundred lectures and lecture series to choose from. The offer is open to current and retired AU staff as well as alumni. There is a limited number of places which are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
As of 1 January 2017, Finn Borchsenius is acting vice-dean for education at the Faculty of Science and Technology. Finn Borchsenius is a biologist and comes from a position as exhibit manager at the Greenhouses in the Botanical Gardens.
Friday 13 January, the new Centre for Higher Education Futures (CHEF) will be officially inaugurated. The centre will be based at the Danish School of Education (DPU) and has been established in close collaboration with the Danish School of Education and the Centre for Teaching Development and Digital Media (CUDiM).
Through its research, the new centre will contribute knowledge and strengthen the debate and the provision of consultancy services in the field of higher education and the design of tomorrow’s universities. According to Claus Holm, who heads the Danish School of Education, Aarhus University is demonstrating considerable leadership in opening the new centre at a time characterised by many changes and political reforms. Johnny Laursen, dean of the Faculty of Arts, will participate in the panel debate which will be held on the opening day.
CHEF will be headed by Professor Susan Wright from DPU as centre director and Deputy Centre Director Søren Bengtsen, an associate professor at CUDiM.
Registration for the MatchPoints Seminar 2017 is now in full swing. More than half of the 450 tickets for the biggest adult education conference about the Reformation in Denmark on 20–21 May 2017 have already been sold. HM Queen Margrethe II and Professor Francis Fukuyama from Stanford University will be attending the conference, among others. At the evening event, the first act of the Luther opera Schlag sie tot! by Bo Holten with lyrics by Eva Sommested Holten will be performed for the first time.
