Course on responsible conduct of research
The aim of the course is to introduce the basic legal aspects, concepts, principles and norms concerning Research Integrity (RI) and Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR).
The course introduces and discusses national and local guidelines on RI and RCR as well as organizational settings installed to promote them. We discuss what good research practices could be, and define and exemplify questionable research practices and misconduct and their potential consequences.
The main learning objective of the course is to stimulate a critical and reflexive approach to one’s own research as well as the research of others, and the course contributes to the students’ ability to conduct research in accordance with basic principles and guidelines, as well as good practices defined by Aarhus University and upheld by Aarhus BSS.
The course is mandatory for all PhD students at Aarhus BSS and they are expected to take the course during their second semester.
Time and place
The course is held in week 2 and 25 every year and the PhD students automatically get signed up for the course, and will be notified.
