DANIDA, FFU

Description: 

DANIDA, part of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, funds research through the DANIDA Fellowship Centre (DFC). Projects may either be driven by Danish research institutions or by research institutions in the selected collaborating countries. Project proposals are assessed by the Consultative Research Committee for Development Research (FFU).

Universities and research institutions in Denmark can apply for support to research collaboration projects in selected countries with development cooperation with Denmark. Projects must involve close collaboration between Danish and local researchers in developing countries to ensure local relevance and ownership.

The application round is two-phased:

  • Phase 1 Applicants submit project ideas leading to prequalification (typically with a deadline in February and an answer in June).
  • Phase 2 is the submission of a full application, by invitation only.

Grant size

Up to 10 Mio DKK per project, where a larger/balanced share should be allocated to local partners.
