New tool: EU and AU Apps make finding relevant EU calls easier
AU’s new funding tool: The EU Funding App (Funding Grant Finder | AU Funding Tools) provides inspiration and helps you to apply for EU funding. Based on automatic data extracts from your PURE profile, the app will find calls that match your academic profile. You can also test the novelty value of your project idea, find local partners and other external institutions to collaborate with as well as potential evaluators.
The EU Apps are a suite of digital tools:
- EU Call Finder – here you can find EU calls that match your academic profile, search EU calls by keyword(s) and find calls and AU partners to match a research idea.
- EU Projects – here you can check that your project idea is new, e.g. by searching through EU-funded projects (CORDIS), and you can be inspired by newly funded projects in your field etc.
- EU Partners – here you can find new and relevant partners for your project, check out possible competitors etc.
- EU Evaluators – here you can find out who is likely to review your application, match the evaluators’ profiles with your idea, strengthen your chances of success by knowing your peers etc.
In addition, you will find AU Apps, which can help you find partners at AU (AU Explorer | AU Funding Tools) and give you an overview of researchers from your department and other AU departments who are conducting research in a particular area.
How to get started?
The EU Funding Apps are easy to use, so simply try them out. You can also watch an introductory video and find a short guide here Help | AU Funding Tools.
If you get stuck, have questions or run into problems with the apps, each faculty has a super user you can contact. You are also welcome to contact Pernille Hamburger Grøngaard (email) from the Research Support Office or one of the local superusers:

Background and facts
The EU and AU Funding Tools were developed by Research Support at the University of Southern Denmark. It is a suite of web apps designed to make life easier for research advisers, researchers and research group leaders working on EU applications by simplifying the process of finding relevant EU calls. The apps are accessible via a web platform. The intuitive interface enables analysis of various data sources and provides personalised output. Natural language algorithms update and match scientific publications with EU calls and EU-funded projects on a daily basis – for each individual researcher. The entire dataset (publications, EU calls and EU-funded projects) can also be explored and filtered using keywords or free-text entry, or by focusing on topics, institutions etc. The apps support all steps of the allocation process. Users thus have both direct and personal (pre-filtered) access to EU calls and EU-funded projects of relevance to their current research and/or new research ideas.
