ORCID contacts AU researchers: connect Pure and ORCID
At the end of August, ORCID will contact AU researchers who have an ORCID but have not linked it to their Pure profile. ORCID will encourage researchers to link the two profiles to improve data quality in both places.
ORCID is a non-profit organization that offers an ID of 16 digits that leads to a personal ORCID profile page. The ID can follow a researcher throughout their career and distinguish their research from others with similar names. It also functions as a publication list independent of changing employments. ORCID and Pure can even be linked so that data from Pure is automatically exported to the ORCID publication list. ORCID is also used by many publishers as an identifier that can direct readers to all research by a given author.
ORCID supports better data in Pure
ORCID also helps to get correct publication data into Pure. When we import publication metadata from Scopus, ORCID helps to ensure that the research is matched with the correct author and not someone with a similar name.
AU in pilot project
AU has been selected as a pilot in a project that is specifically designed to ensure the connection between the researcher and their research, and between ORCID and Pure. The ORCID organization contacts AU researchers with an ORCID and encourages them to link it to AU Pure. They only contact researchers who have already chosen to have an ORCID.
If you are interested in linking your ORCID and your Pure profile, there is a guide on our website. Here you can also find help if you do not have an ORCID, but would like to have one and link it to your Pure profile. It only takes a moment to create one.
We hope that Pure administrators across AU will help us with this, and we are of course ready to support you: pure@au.dk
