Following an increasing number of requests, the Pure team has implemented a change in our validation practice and we now consider articles published when they have been made available online by the publisher. Previously articles would not be considered fully published until the volume/issue they would appear in, had been finalised. However, publication practices change and so must we and now we consider the online version as fully published and it will be included in reports for the year of online publication. 

The change affects publications that are published online on or after 1 Januar 2025, i.e. articles that were published online in 2024 will be validated as per the previous process. 

This process change will affect reports made based on validated post per publication year and we will contact all reporters that we know of, before the summer holidays.
