Did you experience particular challenges related to ethnicity, age, gender, socio-economic status, (physical or mental) disabilities, religion, nationality etc. during or between the Corona lockdowns?

The COVID-19 virus and the resulting lockdown of the country have created professional and personal challenges for almost all groups in society. As the universities have not received any aid packages from the state, the non-permanent researchers (PhDs and postdocs) are under particular pressure to make ends meet before their contracts expire. The latest report from the Danish Association of Masters and PhDs (Dansk Magisterforening) even shows that as many as 19% of PhD students in Denmark are considering stopping their PhD due to the corona lockdown and its implications.

To focus on the challenges among junior researchers, The Faculty of Arts’ Committee for Equality and Diversity is hosting a webinar on the diversity challenges of junior researchers during the corona lockdowns.

The Faculty of Arts’ Committee for Equality and Diversity is hosting a webinar on COVID-19-related diversity challenges for junior researchers. This is an opportunity to shed light on some of the inequalities and challenges in academia that had an impact on junior researcher’s work and wellbeing during this year’s lockdown.

The webinar features presentations by PhD fellows and postdocs on their experiences during the last eight months, contributions from senior researchers presenting findings from their research on stratification, diversity and gender equality in science, and rounds up with a panel discussion

The webinar takes place on the 17th of December from 1 – 4 PM.
