The directors of the eight graduate programmes at Arts have been appointed. This means that the organisation of the graduate school has been finalised. Johnny Laursen, former vice-dean for research and head of the graduate school at the Faculty of Humanities, will head the graduate school at Arts. He is looking forward to collaborating with the new programme directors.
'It will be good to get started on working together with the new programme directors, who will be important partners for PhD supervisors, PhD students and the research programmes. Along with the PhD committee, they will play an important role in faciliating dialogue between the graduate school and the faculty's research and teaching programmes.'
Johnny Laursen points out that the graduate programme directors' tasks and responsibilities have increased significantly with the transition to the new graduate school at Arts.
'As before, they will act as chairs of the assessment committees which evaluate applications for PhD scholarships and admission. But in future, they will also play a central role in ensuring that we offer enough PhD courses.'
