Reasons to use Ta’Med

There are many advantages to using the carpooling club at AU in Ta’Med. Read about them on this page.

Reasons to use Ta’Med

The carpooling club at AU offers a safe and efficient way to start sharing lifts, because you can drive with other people who work at the university.

Carpooling has several other advantages:

  • You reduce your CO2 footprint and contribute to the green transition
  • You help reduce congestion on the roads
  • You save money on transport
  • You meet other employees/students from other departments/programmes at AU

Reasons to use Ta’Med as a driver

Your daily commute to and from university can be an expensive luxury for you and the climate. With the Ta’Med app, you can easily and efficiently share this cost with other people who drive the same way as you every day.

  • You can save on travel costs and enjoy good company in the car. And, together, you can help alleviate congestion on the roads and reduce your CO2 footprint.
  • You decide how often you want to use Ta’Med – every trip counts, and it’s entirely up to you whether you offer free lifts or whether you charge the app’s recommended price for carpooling.
  • You can easily agree on the details of the trip in the app’s chat function, where you can also set the rules for the trip. Would you like to chat en route or would you prefer peace and quiet?

Reasons to use Ta’Med as a passenger

If you are one of the many AU employees who commute to work every day in your own car or on public transport, you might be looking for a quick and cheap alternative.

  • The Ta’Med app connects you to other drivers in your area who drive the same way as you every day. And if you sign up to AU’s carpooling club, you can choose to only drive with other people from AU.
  • You can decide whom you want to share lifts with based on the divers’ profile texts and ratings. You can also add your favourite co-driver and receive automatic notifications when he or she is offering a lift.
