Newsletter consent

Consent to the processing of personal data

In connection with sending out newsletters, we need your consent to process your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

What kinds of personal data do we process?

We process ordinary personal data in the form of your name and email.

If you have signed up for the newsletter without statistics/tracking, your name and your email address will only be used for the purpose of sending you the newsletters. No further data related to your interactions with the newsletter will be collected.

If you receive newsletters with statistics/tracking, the following information will also be collected:
When you signed up for the newsletter, how many times you have opened an individual newsletter, when you opened the newsletter, which links you clicked on, your geographical location when you read the newsletter and which device you use to read the newsletter.

Purpose and processing activities

We use your personal data, such as your name and email address, in connection with sending out the newsletter. Any data we collected about you will be used to improve our newsletter. This could for example be in relation to choice of topic, both in general and in relation to specific content, when the newsletter is sent out, the need to optimise for different devices etc.

Access to your personal data

Relevant employees from the AU unit that send out the newsletter have access to the personal data that we process. In addition, selected employees in AU IT and AU’s web departments have access to your data in order to provide support.

Transfer to a third country

Because our newsletter service supplier, Campaign Monitor, is based in Australia, we transfer your personal data to recipients outside the EU/EEA. The EU standard contractual clauses apply to these transfers, which means that your personal data is stored securely and in accordance with current regulations.

Unsubscribing and storage period

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of all newsletters. When you unsubscribe, you will no longer receive newsletters from us. We store your personal data for up to six months after you have unsubscribed. Your withdrawal of consent in connection with unsubscribing only applies to future transactions, and does not affect the legality of our data processing up to this point.
