Below, you will find the email text to be sent to applicants for whom AU wishes to obtain references.

In connection to deciding which candidate is the best fit the vacant position, we wish to ask you for reference(s) we can contact. 

If you wish to provide reference(s), please reply to this email and state the name and telephone number of the reference(s).

You are not required to provide reference(s). However, please be aware that if no references are provided, this may influence our decision on whether to offer you the position. 

This information will exclusively be used in connection with the recruitment process and will be deleted afterwards.

We’ll contact any references you provide for information about the following:

• Your employment history
• Verification of the information you have provided in your application
• Your professional and personal qualities and skills, work responsibilities and achievements
• Your performance and productivity.

Aarhus University will obtain the reference(s) in accordance with Article 6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation
