Four new professors with special responsibilities (MSO) have been appointed for a five-year term which will begin on on 1 January 2012. These special professorships are intended to strengthen AU's research activities in fields with great potential for development.

Accounting staff who deal with bookkeeping and accounting tasks are moving into one joint department – AU Accounts – providing service for the entire university. The move takes place from 1 December up to 15 December.

In the summer of 2012, Arab and Islamic Studies, the Study of Religion, and Theology will join the other programmes in the new Department of Culture and Society (CAS) at Nobel Park. The move will result in a significant reduction in administrative costs at Arts, as well as a more efficient use of space in the Tåsingegade complex.
