Workshop - Introduction to Chemical Risk Assesment

An introduction to chemical risk assessment of a work process in which hazardous chemicals are included or formed is provided.
Focus is placed on practical applications, so the participant, after the course, can work more safely and methodically in the laboratory. The workshop will be based on the template in Kiros

Time: 9:30–11:30 -  workshop in Danish.
Time: 13:00–15:00 -  workshop in English.
Location: Building 1241, room 125.
Practical: Bring a PC.
 

Target group and prerequisites:

Laboratory technicians, technicians, and scientific personnel working with hazardous chemicals.

You are expected to:

• Work with chemicals on a daily basis.

• Be familiar with hazard and safety labeling of chemicals (pictograms, H- and P-phrases).

• Are registered as an user and have knowledge of KIROS (AU's system for registration of hazardous chemicals).

Course content:

  • Introduction to requirements for chemical risk assessment of work processes.
  • Review of template for chemical risk assessment in KIROS.
  • Case assignments that are solved in groups where you carry out a risk assessment.
  • Joint review and solution of the case assignment, which can subsequently be used as a reference in your own work.
