As part of its climate strategy, Aarhus University aims to increase the proportion of waste that is recycled. Waste management is therefore a strategic focus area.
This means that staff and students at the university are required to sort waste into up to 10 different categories.
At Arts, we sort waste into six categories:
In Your Office
Office bins have two compartments: one for paper and one for organic waste.
Organic waste must be emptied into the food waste containers located at the waste stations.
Paper should be disposed of at the following collection points:
Shredding
Shredding containers are located in the following rooms:
Paper/Cardboard
Dispose of at one of the collection points listed above.
Building Services will collect it after 10:30 AM.
Glass
Must be disposed of in the outdoor glass container.
Old Electronics
Electronics must be handed over to IT.
Large Quantities or Other Waste
Contact Building Services to create a service request.
In Your Office
Residual waste should be disposed of in the bin located in the kitchen or hallway.
Paper should be placed in the copy room.
Shredding
Contact Building Services.
Large Amounts of Residual Waste
Place in a black bag at the nearest waste station.
Paper/Cardboard
Glass
Batteries
Dispose of in the battery bins located in the copy rooms.
These bins are emptied once a year.
Old Electronics
Contact your local IT support.
Large Quantities or Other Waste
Contact Building Services.
Events/parties
Office Waste Bin
If you have a personal waste bin in your office, you are responsible for emptying and sorting the waste yourself.
Ring Binders
Ring binders should be disposed of as combustible waste (small items).
Office Moves
Contact Building Services for disposal of large amounts of waste in connection with office moves or clear-outs.
